Help Delaney fight FIP!
Donation protected
Delaney was diagnosed with wet FIP after her foster mom Ronnie Evans noticed her abdomen had begun to swell and she was not finishing her meals. At just 8 months old, Delaney has already beaten the odds and survived living as a kitten in deplorable conditions in rural Maryland. She was lucky enough to walk into a trap one day and her life changed for the better. Although Delaney did not trust people, Ronnie knew that Delaney would one day become a sweet, indoor cat - she just needed time and patience. Ronnie has spent the last several months working with Delaney to ready her for adoption and the unthinkable happened - a deadly diagnosis of FIP.
There is no vaccine for FIP - Feline Infectious Peritonitis and there is no readily available cure. The only option to treat FIP is to use an experimental drug developed by Gilead Sciences which is the parent drug to Remdesivir - the antiviral currently used to treat Covid-19 in human patients. This drug is costly, and must be imported from overseas.
FIP is a very personal disease to me. I lost my entire first litter of kittens I ever fostered to FIP. I lost one of my own cats - Winston in February of 2019 to FIP. It is a horrible disease that attacks the young and results in a very painful death. If you can find it in your heart to help, please donate. Ronnie is devastated, and she is one of the kindest most giving individuals I have ever met. Any amount is appreciated.
Thank you!
