Pregnant Woman Stuck Abroad in Canada seeks help

Hello! I am Sandra. I am 36 weeks pregnant, and I am stuck in Saskatoon due COVID 19 borders closure.  I do not have health insurance that can cover my spends at the hospital to give birth or additional complications for being a high-risk pregnancy.

I travelled to Canada to give immediate support to my other daughter for personal circumstances that she lived here. Due to COVID-19 borders closures and my current physical condition (almost due), I cannot go back to my home country.




For weeks, I have tried to reach out to my embassy (Colombia), the government of Canada, the government of Saskatchewan, non-profit organizations, but I have not had luck getting help or going back to my country. Thus, my hope its in you, community. Please help my family to rise up.

These are some costs for non-Canadians that Jim Pattison Children's Hospital has informed me:

Standard Emergency/ Outpatient Visit: $1,077.00
Day Surgery: $4,155.00
Newborn per diem: $2,500.00
Inpatient per diem standard ward: $4,254.00
