Hey beautiful people
My name is Demae aka Bubblerap and I'm a singer-songwriter from North-West London.
In sept last year I released my first debut EP 'Life Works Out Usually...' (-https://demae.bandcamp.com/album/life-works-out-usually) with my friends and independent LDN label Touching Bass. I've been so overwhelmed by the love and supported received for the EP so far. I'm so grateful it resonated with you, especially during this tough year we are all going through (emotionally, physically and spiritually).
As someone who makes most of my income from gigging/singing live, Covid-19 has devastated my financial situation. Like many other Artists, I'm continuously trying to find other alternatives to support myself. Finding work right now has proven hard, and I know so many others are in the same boat as me which makes asking for help even more difficult. There are so many pressing issues happening in the world right now.
Creating and making music is my life and this GoFundMe will help me massively in creating new work and developing my skills and artistry so I can continue to follow my dreams despite this lockdown and no foreseeable live gigs in the near future.
Here is what I need financial help with:
A new laptop.
All the music I’ve ever made has been recorded off of my 8-year-old laptop which is no longer sufficient enough to support my music making. Having a laptop for recording and creating music is vital to me. This new laptop will be used solely for recording and creating. It will give me space and freedom that I need to run large music software like Logic, Ableton etc.
Video project:
The incredible director Nwaka Okparaeke wants to collaborate with me on a video for one of the songs on my EP. Depending on the outcome of this fund, I would love to put a portion of it towards this music video. Storyboards, crew, and budgets are ready to go.
The money will go towards lighting, car hire, extras, stylists hair and make-up, and overall production.
Any help is deeply appreciated and all donors will receive a special gift as a thank you from me. This means everything to me. I'm hoping to add a little more light into the world with this and any future projects.
