Help Dennis Saxman Go Home
Donation protected
Dennis is one of Seattle's unsung heroes. His contributions have been immeasurable. Now Dennis wants to relocate to his place of birth in Pennsylvania to complete his documentation of his family's history, a project he has been working on for the last three decades. His dream is to visit the libraries and historical archives throughout western Pennsylvania.
As a community activist in Seattle, Dennis Saxman used his legal expertise, volunteered countless hours, and worked tirelessly to help protect and assist individuals throughout our greater community. Dennis lives on government disability (due to a long-term illness), lives in low-income housing and therefore needs our help and support to make his last dream come true.
During the last 25 years, Dennis has improved the quality of life for all Seattle residents through the following efforts and accomplishments:
• Housing affordability and housing access for low-income people
• Advocacy for the disabled, homeless and people with AIDS
• Building design standards for the Pike/Pine corridor of Capitol Hill
• Identification of illegal housing development; forcing Seattle to establish legal minimum standards for micro-apartments
• Helping thousands of Section 8 households obtain utility bill discounts
Whatever the issue, Dennis was there to testify at City Council, file public records requests, support other activists, and give a very well-informed voice to the voiceless.
Dennis needs our support for airfare, shipping his minimal possessions and getting settled in housing in Pennsylvania.
Please help Dennis fulfill his dream of returning to Pennsylvania and completing his efforts to document his family history and genealogy. All funds go directly to Dennis.
With sincere thanks - Pat Murakami & Bill Bradburd
