Help Desiree Overcome Crisis & Care for Jonathan

Hello, Everyone.

My name is Cindy, I am reaching out to our community, on behalf of our dear friend Desiree Santillano and her son Jonathan.

On July 2,2024 Los Angeles County Sheriff Department deputies shot Jonathan twice. He was shot in the chest and in his leg. Jonathan is only 14 years old. This horrific act by LASD, that could’ve ended Jonathan’s life.Jonathan is also a witness to a horrific crime committed by LASD.He is currently hospitalized under critical but stable condition in a nearby hospital.

Desiree, his mother, is a single mother and is currently experiencing homelessness. She is living in a hotel 70 miles from where Jonathan is hospitalized at the moment.

As Desiree navigates through this heartbreaking time, they are faced with overwhelming responsibilities such as homelessness, and Jonathan’s upcoming medical bills/expenses. Unfortunately, this incident has made everything more difficult for Desiree to navigate through, as the only parent and caring for her son at the hospital.

We have created this GofundMe to help support Desiree and Jonathan in covering medical expenses, food and providing shelter for her and her children. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and help alleviate some of the stress this mother is facing during this difficult period.
