Help Destiny Survive Stage 4 Cancer

Hi, my name is Rami Amaro and I am helping my daughter raise funds for her high school best friend, Destiny Mink. Destiny is only in her 20s and she is the mother of two young children, a seven year old daughter, and a two month old son. Destiny raises and trains horses for a living in Montana. However, after the recent birth of her son, what she thought was mastitis, ended up being a cancer that has only a 40% survival rate for adults. She was flown to Fred Hutch, where she will be for many months fighting for her life.

She will be fighting to stay a mother to her children, to stay a wife to her husband, to stay a daughter to her parents, to stay a sister to her siblings, to stay a caretaker to her animals, and to stay on this amazing earth for as long as possible.

Even though much of the care is covered by insurance, if you’ve had serious cancer care, you know, there is a ton of expense that isn’t covered by insurance. Things such as bringing her kids to Seattle to visit her. Or certain things you can buy that make the process much easier but insurance doesn’t cover. Or just feeling secure that you’ve got the co-pays and deductibles covered and you’re not gonna come out the hospital with a ton of debt. After discharge you have to pay to stay nearby for six more weeks - and that’s a lot!
