Help Maria and Rudolph Rebuild After Eaton Canyon Fire

You work your entire life to lose everything within moments. My name is Destiny. I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for assistance on behalf of my grandparents,Maria and Rudolph, whose home was tragically destroyed in the recent Eaton Canyon Palisades fire in Altadena, California. As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for them, and any support would make an immeasurable difference in helping them rebuild their lives.

My grandparents are retired and live on a fixed income from Social Security. My grandmother, who spent years working for the Department of Water and Power of Los Angeles, and my grandfather, who worked at Sysco, have always been hardworking and independent. My grandfather is a survivor of lymphatic cancer, and just two weeks ago, he underwent a stent procedure. Along with their medical bills, they are already facing the rising costs of mortgage payments and property taxes, which have at times made it seem like they might have to leave their cherished home. We never imagined that the reason they would have to leave would be due to the devastation of a fire.

The fire has taken not just their home but their sense of security and stability. Now, they are left with the overwhelming task of starting over at an age where most people are looking forward to a peaceful retirement. Given their financial situation, they are unable to shoulder the costs of rebuilding or relocating on their own.

We are hoping to raise funds to help them navigate this tragedy, cover emergency expenses, and assist with the costs of finding a new place to live. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping my grandparents start a new chapter in their lives and provide them with the peace of mind they deserve after so much hardship.
