Hi, I'm Dextra and I'm an artist, marketing monkey and medical mess. I'm here to raise funds to help with medical bills, and just keep my head above water.

UPDATE: My thyroid issue has been identified, and I have thyroid cancer. So that ups the ante on everything. I’m going to be having surgery in the coming weeks and that means I’ll be losing time from work to recover. Plus with the extra medical intervention this is going to need. This is on top of everything else, so to say I’m overwhelmed would be an understatement.

Last month I had to suddenly move to a new apartment and thanks to some lovely friends, I was able to make that happen, because I wouldn't have been able to on my own. It was an emergency situation that had to be resolved quickly. This is my apartment, I love it very much.

I've had chronic illnesses for years as well as a plethora of mental illness diagnoses that are really expensive, and I'm just one person. I work two jobs and have decent insurance, but, with all of my issues, it's not enough.

My daily medications cost about $250 a month. And that's just one thing. Other things that would be covered by this fundraiser would be:

Thyroid issues - I have a large growth which I had to have an ultrasound and biopsy for yesterday. I haven't gotten a bill for it yet, but I'm not looking forward to it. And there's a 50/50 chance of needing surgery.
I recently (like 2 weeks ago) had to see an emergency doctor because I had a flare up of shingles. On my eye. Thankfully that was caught before it got really bad.
Not the most pleasant issue, but I have debilitating menstrual pain that will require an ultrasound at least to properly diagnose, with a strong chance of surgery needed for that as well.
I'm also about $1500 behind on what I already owe between 3 different doctors. I've had to let a lot of things fall behind due to the whole relocation issue.

Basically right now I'm having to decide whether I can eat, pay rent, or have my medications. I need to be able to take care of my medical needs and still keep a roof over my head, and right now, I'm coming up empty. So any help would be appreciated.
