Initial Diagnosis:
On September 10th 2022, Dez started to have pain in her upper left quadrant. Ten days later, her family was told that it was cancer. Dez was moved to Rady’s Children’s Hospital for more testing and a biopsy to confirm the type of cancer.
Her family found it was Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma. It is an extremely rare cancer and it does not respond well to chemo and requires a liver transplant.
Dez started PLADO chemo on October 18th in hopes the tumors won’t spread and Dez will continue to be eligible for a liver transplant.
As you probably can imagine, with this diagnosis the Holmes families whole world has stopped on a dime. The focus is now on Dez, testing, treatment, and all the plans going forward.
We are using this Go Fund Me to help support them and give them just a bit of practical help as they are going through this. Let’s show them our love and support…
