Help Diane and Maggie Find a Place to Call Home

Two beloved members of our community are facing eviction while Maggie is on home hospice.
Diane has been providing childcare for families in and around Canterbury for the past 20 years. Her mother, Maggie, joined her in 2004 when she moved in with Diane and her family. Together they have provided childcare for 100’s of our town’s children, giving the parents the peace of mind that their children were being loved and well cared for while they worked.
As part of the divorce in 2014, Diane lost her state licensed Family Group Childcare home. Since that time, Diane and Maggie have continued supporting the local community while renting single family homes.
In a very sudden turn of events, doctors have recommended in-home hospice care for Maggie. Right on the heels of this decision, the current landlords have put the house up for sale.
Diane has been diligently searching for comparable housing that will allow her to continue to provide in-home childcare, be her mother’s primary caretaker, and continue to share a home with her 19 year old daughter and two 10 and 1 /2 year old yellow labs.
The rental market in our community is at an all-time low. She has filed many applications, but the competition for rentals is fierce. Running an at home business and have dogs has made them ineligible for the few options that exist.
As we wind down to the end of the month, the situation is getting dire. This Go Fund Me is intended to open up other options for immediate housing.
Money raised may be used to either make an outright home purchase possible or open up rental possibilities that are currently out of their price range.
Please consider donating to assist Diane and her family with the housing transition. Any amount is appreciated. Thank you!
