Diane Dalin’s Fight against ALS

Hi, my name is Shanda. I am Diane Dalin’s daughter in law, married to her only son, Terry Haney. Many of you might know Diane from the Two Bear Tavern in Fromberg, MT, which she has owned and operated for 17 years! Diane is one of the most hard working, honest, caring, and kind humans I have ever met and I am lucky enough to call her my mother-in-law.

A few months ago, Diane began experiencing unusual nerve and muscle symptoms. Family and friends began noticing different things as well and we began our journey down what we now know is a long road ahead. Diane has been seen here in Billings, MT by a neurologist whom has run multiple tests and scans, bringing us to where we are today.

On Sept 12, 2023, Diane received the news of a possible ALS diagnosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The neurologist she has been seeing here has referred her to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to confirm the diagnosis or figure out the correct one, and get her started with treatment to give her back some quality of life.

Asking for help is not something Diane ever wants to do but she will always be the first to offer help to others when she can. It’s time we rally around her and help with any costs related to going to Mayo so she has one less thing to worry about and can focus on the task at hand- her health. In a place where we feel helpless, I’m hoping that by the support of her community, friends, and loved ones, we can all come together and raise some money for Diane to get to Mayo and get answers so she can continue to watch her two grand babies grow up without feeling the burden of money.
