Help Diane Rosenberg Heal
Donation protected
Diane and Fred Rosenberg married rather late in life. They dated for 4 years, were married for 6 years and even though they amicably divorced, while living apart they remained extraordinarily close. They were major presences in each other’s lives for over 14 years, sharing their ideas about each other’s activism work, helping each other through emotional conundrums, running important questions by each other regularly – and sharing joyful moments and all kinds of support with a powerful mutual love and respect that never dimmed.
Fred's sudden death in January stunned and saddened the whole community and especially Diane, who is now struggling with sleeplessness and grief and, predictably, difficulty focusing on her work at this time.
Diane has been a primary driving force for decades behind JFAN - Jefferson County Farmers and Neighbors - where she currently serves as President and Executive Director. She was also the co-founder and a primary organizer of a statewide coalition - The Iowa Alliance for Responsible Agriculture - which is working toward a moratorium on new CAFOs until Iowa's polluted waterways are substantially improved. Diane’s work has been successful in keeping Jefferson County significantly freer from hog sewage and associated toxins and smells than most other counties in Iowa.
With love for Fred and for her, and gratitude for her dedicated and effective activism, we would like to raise $1500 to provide her with at least a week of warm oil massage therapy to help her through this difficult time. No amount is too small. Every donation will be gratefully received. She has supported us all by protecting the very air we breathe here; let us support her now.
