Support Diego and Yvette After Eaton Fire

Donation protected
This GoFundMe page has been created by the Perdues, close friends and family of Diego and Yvette Rodrigues, to offer immediate support as they rebuild their lives after losing their home and nearly all of their belongings in the recent Altadena fires. The entire neighborhood was devastated, and Diego and Yvette’s small, 100-year-old home, the result of years of hard work, was completely destroyed. In an instant, life changed overnight, as reflected in the photos of their loss. Their house had long been a place of service and refuge, as they repeatedly opened it to support friends and even strangers in need, making this loss especially heartbreaking.

Though they’re currently staying with family, they face urgent and ongoing needs. Diego and Yvette have spent nearly two decades working in education and mental health, tirelessly serving vulnerable communities. They have also volunteered extensively, addressing homelessness, food insecurity, and youth support—all while navigating significant personal challenges, including Yvette’s severe health condition, which impacted her ability to work, and a previous total loss of their vehicle in an accident not covered by insurance.

Despite this unimaginable loss, Diego was back on the ground just two days later—working and volunteering, distributing PPE kits, and providing essentials to other families affected. He is also coordinating broader emergency response efforts to help local and regional shelters through his job while caring for his spouse and in-laws. Typically, Diego and Yvette would be the first to offer help and the last to ask for it, so we—loving friends and family—are stepping in to support them.

Your contribution will help them:
• Replace essential belongings
• Address interim housing needs and gaps
• Bridge immediate financial shortfalls
• Continue their invaluable community service and volunteer work

Thank you for coming together to help Diego and Yvette during this challenging time. Any amount is truly appreciated and will make a meaningful difference in helping them rebuild and continue supporting others.

We are deeply grateful for the support that has brought us close to our initial goal. After reassessing Diego and Yvette’s needs, including interim housing support, we’ve realized that additional funds will help bridge the financial shortfalls more effectively. To address these unforeseen challenges, we’ve increased the target to ensure they can start rebuilding and recover with greater stability.
