Dina is a family member of a friend who lives in the same city I do in Kentucky. Dina is a 27 year-old beautiful girl with 2 children. Her daughter Juri is one-and-a-half-year-old and her son Waseem is two-and-a-half-year-old. We just found out she is expecting as well. We have been talking on WhatsApp every day for the past 5 months and I consider her as my family. She is my baby sister. As I have mentioned, I am working multiple jobs to support her and her other family members, but I can no longer do it alone. Please help me help them.
STORY FROM DINA:
Hello world. I am Dina Awad. I am a 27-year-old mother of two and expecting as well. I am from Nothern Gaza. We used to have a beautiful home living happily, but ever since October 7, our lives have completely changed. My home and dreams were bombed and have been completely destroyed. We escaped with only the clothes on our backs. We kept moving South, but as we were bombed everywhere we went, we arrived in Rafah.

We were living in a dilapidated building with concrete floors and walls. Certainly, no electricity, furniture or water with no windows to speak of. We had to move to Khan Yunis on foot a week ago when the invasion of Rafah started, and we have been sleeping on the streets as we have no tent. Mina has sent us some money so we will be buying one soon hopefully. She sends money by either Western Union or PayPal to people who has cash on hand and have relatives in places such as Greece, Germany etc.

HOW MONEY REACHES THE RECIPIENTS:
The GoFundMe funds will be sent to family and friends who live abroad such as Greece, Turkey, Germany, Malta etc. The friends and family will send the funds to the Egyptian Travel Agent Hala. Once Hala receives the funds, they will announce on Facebook whom they can transport to Egypt on a daily basis. The waiting period on average is approximately 2 weeks. The extra funds will then be wire transferred to the recipients or sent by Western Union or PayPal. I, myself, have sent money by these means FYI.
BREAKDOWN OF ESTIMATED COSTS:
- Passport fees: $150 per person (a total of $600 for 4 family members).
- Evacuation Fee/Egyptian Coordination: 5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child (Considering current evacuation fees and coordination expenses at the Egyptian border).
- Visa application fees: $280 per person (total of $1,120 for 4 family members)
- Transportation to Rafah Crossing: $1,100
- Flight from Cairo to destination "One way": $1,200 per person. (a total of $3,600for 2 adults and one child. Believe children might be free under 2 years old).
- GoFundMe Fee: $870 (Approximately 2.9% of each donation, covering the platform’s fee).
- And some extra living costs for couple of months.
