Dear friends and family,
Not long after the death of my parents, I was diagnosed with a rare
form of breast cancer. In 2017, I underwent surgery and months of
oncology treatment on my own. During this time, I continued to work and support
myself; however, while I was recovering, I discovered the person closest to me–and whom I trusted–had been stealing large amounts of my money and property from me, including my computer, iPad and my mother's jewelry. It was a devastating betrayal and took a terrible toll on my health.
The time I then spent pursuing this in court to protect myself from more abuse amounted to a second job and drained the last of my energy and savings. As a result, I have
found myself alone in the hospital multiple times in the past two years and have fallen behind in paying my medical bills.
This past March, the company I worked for permanently laid off all its employees.
Now, I urgently need to begin my next life-saving round of cancer therapy, but cannot afford to without help.
This is a true emergency.
