Help Dionne Get Urgent Medical Care

We are Friends of Dionne and we want to help her pay for her unexpected medical expenses.

We started with a goal of $1,000 (the suggested amount from GoFundMe) and are delighted that we've surpassed it. So thank you, everyone.  But anyone who knows anyone with cancer knows how costly it can be. So we've raised our goal, and hope folks will keep on giving. We want Dionne to have as much as she needs so she can concentrate on just getting better! .

Dionne was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma (a rare aggressive soft tissue cancer) and her right lung and chest wall were removed in May 2020., After radiation treatments for one month straight in Aug 2020, followed by 3 months of chemotherapy , the cancer has metastasized to stage 4  and brought two separate hospitals stays-- because of fluid in her chest walls, causing difficulty breathing, edema, & blood clots. She is now on an oxygen machine 24/ 7, with side effects that greatly limit her day to day activities.

 

Payments for monthly doctors appointments, chemotherapy, CT scans, medications, transportation cost, utilities costs and medical equipment needs are overwhelming her limited monthly budget. Because her cancer is so rare, it is difficult for her to get appointments with a specialist quickly. While she is on wait-lists, her limited budget makes it impossible for her to get to a doctor when a cancellation comes up. She is a beautiful person, fighting her best fight to give her time and hope. Please help us help her.
