My name is Dr. Jeremiah Richard, and I am the proud founder of Doctor Little, a biotech social enterprise with a mission to reduce the devastating impact of heart disease within Black communities. As both a medical practitioner and an innovator, I’ve had the privilege of combining my technical skills with my passion for healthcare to build a foundation that addresses critical health disparities. As a Black doctor, I am driven to see others in our community succeed, and I believe in creating solutions that empower us all.
The Heart Disease Crisis in Black Communities
Heart disease is a leading cause of death in the United States, but it disproportionately affects Black Americans. We are 30% more likely to die from heart disease than non-Hispanic whites, and Black women are nearly 50% more likely to suffer from high blood pressure compared to non-Hispanic white women. These numbers are even more alarming in Africa, where access to adequate medical care and resources is severely limited.
Our Work and Achievements
Doctor Little began its journey in the slums of Kibera, where we provided vital medical care, distributed life-saving medications, and gathered data to fuel our research. Our work, driven by persistence and passion, has scaled significantly over the years. We’ve assembled an incredible team of clinical, technical, and administrative talent to bring our vision to life. However, we face ongoing challenges due to the populations we serve—those at the bottom of the pyramid, often underserved and overlooked.
Despite these hurdles, we remain committed to our mission of ensuring that even the most remote and disadvantaged communities have access to quality healthcare. One of our core objectives is to increase Black representation in clinical research, which will lead to better treatments and outcomes for our communities.
Why We Need Your Help
We are seeking to raise $30,000 to help fund the next phase of our work. Your contribution will go directly toward:
Launching Our Latest Supplement
We’ve developed a supplement tailored to reduce the risk of heart disease in Black populations. These funds will support clinical trials to validate its efficacy and ensure it reaches those who need it most.
Improving Our Community Health Worker Software
Our software platform connects community health workers with jobs and ensures they are paid promptly. By enhancing this platform, we can help more healthcare workers serve their communities effectively.
Establishing a Research Lab in NYC
Setting up a dedicated lab in New York City will allow us to accelerate our research and develop new, innovative treatments specifically designed to address the health challenges faced by Black communities.
Preparing for Our Upcoming Medical Camp
We’re planning our annual medical camp that will provide free healthcare services to hundreds of families in underserved areas here in the United States. Your donations will ensure we have the supplies and resources needed to make a meaningful impact.
Join Our Journey
This fundraising campaign isn’t just about supporting our work—it’s an invitation to join a community dedicated to changing lives. Together, we can bridge the gap in healthcare access and reduce heart disease in Black populations around the world.
We’ve come a long way, but we need your help to continue this life-changing work. Every dollar counts, and your generosity will make a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals and families. Thank you for standing with us in this fight for better health.
