Help Dolce Amore - The Gelato Mafia!

On the morning of August 22nd, we awoke to the most devastating news: a massive fire broke out at our Dolce Amore - Little Italy location on Commercial Drive in Vancouver.

While the investigation is still underway, it looks to be an electrical fire, and ourselves, the neighbouring restaurant Hanai, and the residents in the apartments above, all have now been displaced, with no timeline to return in sight.

We've lost our flagship store, our production facility, but it's actually so much more.

Dolce Amore is more than just gelato and more than just four walls; it is family. It is teamwork. It is about caring for those around you as more than just employees or customers. A family with people from all around the world, a home filled with joy, tears, excitement, stress, hope, and an abundance of laughter and love.

The next chapter will be very challenging. We've just recently opened a second location, Dolce Amore - LoLo, in North Vancouver, but this location must now close as well until we find a new production facility to keep making gelato.

We have over 40 team members counting on us for their livelihood.

We do have insurance, but we will not receive funds for some time, and it will not cover the loss of income for our North Van store, nor will it cover all of our team's wages.

We're reaching out to our community to help us bridge that gap so that we can get a temporary production facility up and running, and so that we can keep our team employed and working.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though perhaps very far away. But with your support, we can get there much sooner, and keep our team intact.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with emails, phone calls, messages, etc, offering their love, well wishes, and assistance of any kind. We've shed many tears, but none more so than the tears of joy from feeling the love from our community.

We hope to be serving you our gelato and smiles in the very near future.
