Our beloved, Martha Watters (Agnew), was murdered on February 17th, 2018 at the hands of her estranged husband Greg Agnew. Greg was convicted of 1st degree premeditated Murder on September 6, 2019 and serving life without possibility of parole. First degree murder
While still reeling from their mother’s brutal murder, Martha’s adult children, Michelle, Krystin and Jerry, pursued probate court to get the rights to her home now that Greg was in jail. It had been discovered in court that Greg had signed the home over to his mother and Martha’s children by law were not allowed to access the home to gather any of her belongings or her dogs.
The fight for Martha’s estate continues in probate court and 2021 will be an expense beyond our reach! Our family is facing another ‘long waiting period’. Some friends and family do not know the details of this struggle, but we are sharing this with you now because we need financial help. Here is a brief explanation of what has happened.
It took 5 months before Greg was arrested for Martha’s murder. After his arrest his mother and sister then took over Martha’s home. Still not allowing Martha’s children to enter. This began the next fight for justice for Martha and taking on the Agnew Family in probate court!
Michelle Singh, Martha’s eldest daughter, was appointed Personal Representative of Martha’s estate on October 4th, 2018. This finally granted entry to the home. Our family raced from the Probate Court House straight to Martha’s house; her children were so excited to finally get inside and collect her belongings and hug their family dogs. However, what we encountered was another nightmare! The Agnew family neglected to care for the property and the dogs inside the house. The property that held Martha’s beloved pets, personal possessions and sentimental items for her children were destroyed! The home was covered in feces, blood, and urine. Michelle immediately called 911 and animal control came with the assistance of the Human Society they ceased the animals. Two of the dogs had broken bones, severely malnourished and had to be euthanized; Martha’s daughters Michelle and Krystin held each animal when they were euthanized. Criminal charges were filed against the Agnew family for animal cruelty and the Agnew family was found guilty. Animal Cruelty Case
At this time, the children have already spent over $25,000 in an attempt to get her home back to the prideful place it was when Martha purchased it. Due to the destruction to the property and the numerous visits to probate court during the year 2019 and 2020. The floors were stripped, drywall replaced, and damage to the bathroom was a complete remodel. The gutting of the inside of the home filled three 35 yard dumpsters at a significant expense! All the furniture, beautiful shelves, decorations were destroyed and filled the dumpsters. All her precious belongings including jewelry, clothing, sentimental items vanished from the house, and never returned to her children. Even with all this work, it is definitely not done yet as outside cleanup and removal of large items and vehicles still need to be done. Taxes, bills and legal fees have been mounting.
As we are only 3 months into 2021, it is starting out as another long wait in probate and a financial disaster for Martha’s children. Some of you are aware that Greg lost his appellate court appeal, however, he now will appeal to the Supreme Court and Michelle, as her Mother’s Personal Representative, must face this monster again. The title to the home is still in ‘limbo’, and the home and assets are still not legally theirs, yet the responsibility to maintain the home is on her children. It is predicted the Supreme Court appeal will take months and the verdict could take longer. In the hopes that the Supreme Court denies Greg’s appeal, it is then and only then, our family, and most importantly Martha’s children, will be able to take the case back to the probate court under the “Slayer Statue”. This statue deals with situations in which an interested person kills the decedent. In order to preclude taking from the decedent’s estate under the “Slayer Statue”, the killing must have been felonious and intentional.

Please consider donating any amount to help lessen the burden that Martha’s children have endured. It would be such a blessing and tribute to Martha that this financial load could be taken off of her children.
Any donation will go to off-set further clean-up, removal of items, taxes, legal fees and still needed repairs to the home. Thank you for your consideration in donating to help these warriors who lost their Mom, Martha.
