What is MS
At 24 years old we would never have thought we would be dealing with this; our daughter Dominique has been diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis).
MS is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of nerves and is usually passed on genetically. We are trying to ease her and her families burdens with the financial strain of being in the hospital while they try to find out how and what onset this and where to go from here. We are asking for some assistance from our family and friends to help her with her hospital bills. Anything you can donate is appreciated.
About a week ago she lost feeling in her both her legs and went to the ER. They suggested she go to see a neurologist and follow up as they noticed some strange spots on her head. After about 5 days things got worse and she lost even more feeling and became super weak. She started experiencing tremors and the ER nurse told her on the phone she needed to come in right away.
They took MRI’s of her spine and brain and they said they found lesions on the brain but rushed her to downtown Presbyterian to see a neurologist right away and get help as they were concerned.
They redid the MRI testing and did a lumbar spinal puncture. They found 9 lesions on her brain and 2 on her spine. She then was given the diagnosis of MS (Multiple Sclerosis). They are doing steroid therapy and physical therapy for the next 5 days. She should be discharged from the hospital later this week. We know God is in control and his glory will be revealed in this.
