Help Donald and Shawna recover from Hurricane Helene

Donation protected
In the early morning hours of Friday, Sept. 27, Donald and Shawna Pearl were at their home in Hendersonville when a large tree crashed through their roof, blown over by winds from Hurricane Helene. They escaped with their lives, but the tree decimated the top story of their house, which is now unlivable. Donald and Shawna need help rebuilding. They have to pay an insurance deductible to be able to fix their roof, but they don't know when that'll happen, or even if there will be a cap on what insurance will fix. On top of that, they've both been out of work since the hurricane, which destroyed much of Western North Carolina, where they live.
My name is Kara Fohner, and I'm a friend of Donald and Shawna. I set up this page with their permission. Every penny will go directly to Donald and Shawna to help them rebuild their home and pay for living expenses while they are out of work.
