Help Donate for the Malier Family

Hi I'm Justine Malier the wife of Aaron Malier. I am fundraising to help relieve financial stress from my husband. As most of everyone knows that knows my family, Aaron is the main financial income to our family. And has been off work for over 2 weeks now and is expected to be off for 2 more once he's released from the hospital.

On February 21 Aaron went back to work at his job at Manitokan. On February 22 he messaged me he wasn't feeling good and something seemed off and that he didn't feel good. The next day he messaged me that he got sick in the morning but didn't know why. This got persistent each day, "I keep vomitting and don't feel good." Finally February 28 he came home early from work because he was vomitting every 2 hours. When he got home we drove him to meadow lake emerge where he was seen and said he had high blood pressure and was sent home. Continuing to vomit and not be able to keep anything down we decided to bring him back Saturday March 2nd and his blood pressure was 209/126 ( stroking range ) and he was admitted in meadow until the got his blood pressure to drop back down to regular range and was sent home. Sunday and Monday he still couldn't keep any water down or take any medication to help as he would instantly throw it up. Finally took him back again March 5th as he was again vomiting every 2 hours again and this was day 5 of not being able to eat or keep any fluid down which isn't good as Aaron is a type 1 diabetic. The doctor there requested for an ultrasound and sent us home. I called Meadow Lake and Cold Lake and they couldn't get him in until the end of the month for one. So Tuesday March 5th I took him back to emerge in meadow because waiting 3 more weeks for an ultrasound was not an option for him. Did blood tests and realized Aaron's kidney functions were elevated from not eating or drinking for 5 days and it has now damaged his kidneys. He was then requested to be admitted to North battleford to do more testing with an internal medicine specialist. After a head scan, CT scan of the head, lung x-ray, spinal and stomach ultrasound they came up with a diagnosis of Idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Pressure in the head. But is still waiting for one more test to see how damaged his stomach is from vommiting for so long. And is expected by the doctor to rest at least 2 weeks after being discharged from the hospital and to be reassessed to make sure he can go back to work. And needs a referral to see a neurologist in Saskatoon.

This has been a world wind the last 2 weeks and the last thing I want is for Aaron to stress about bills and financial obligations while trying to get better and recover. Anything will be help ❤️ my husband is 1 of the hardest workers I know and it is definitely hard for him to be sitting back and taking it easy instead of working. And he isn't one to ask for help but we realized in the midst of this his benefits at work don't cover short or long term disability. Something now we are learning the hard way and need to find better benefits going forward.

UPDATE: Aaron is home but now on 8 new meds to control the pressure in his head. To control the migraines he continuously has everyday. And his stomach for eating. He had a doctor's appointment to try and go back to work but they wont allow him to until the neurologist signs off for him too. His phone consult is the 17th. We do now get medical EI but it's nothing compared to what Aaron was making working. So anything donated means the world to us to help pay bills as we navigate this part of our lives.

Thank you to anyone who helps donate ❤️ it means the world to us!!
