Hello! My name is Mari, and I'm based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm helping to raise funds for my friend Donia Abu Saqer in Gaza. Donia is currently studying to become a registered nurse, despite the ongoing war and having lost her home, her school, and friends and family. Please read on and consider supporting Donia's campaign.

I met Donia through her family, who I have been in close contact with daily for the past several months. I have gotten to know Donia through video calls and regular messaging, and decided to help Donia make a new campaign after her first campaign organizer was no longer able to continue running her original campaign for her. Donia is exceptionally intelligent, consistently receiving recognition for her academic achievements. She's a diligent student, despite only being able to complete her assignments and projects from her phone, as her computer was destroyed in the war. Donia dreams of completing her degree and helping people as soon as possible, and eventually one day going on to become a doctor.

Here's Donia's story in her own words:

Hello, my friends. I hope you will give me two minutes of your time and read my story. I am Donia. I am 22 years old. I study nursing at the Islamic University of Palestine, Gaza. I think that everyone now knows Gaza and what is happening in it. No matter how much we try to portray to you what we are going through, you cannot comprehend the situation. The situation is very difficult and tiring. We have suffered. We have been displaced a lot from one area to another trying to find a safe place and preserve our lives. The costs of treatment and food are very expensive and we are striving to achieve this.

A year ago, we were striving like everyone strives to achieve their dreams. I had many dreams that I am striving to achieve and I am still striving and trying to achieve it despite the difficulty of the situation. I am studying nursing for the fourth year at the Islamic University and I was one of the outstanding students in my university. I had a goal to graduate and work as a teaching assistant, teaching students at my university and getting a job in my profession, which I love and benefit people and treat their wounds and be like a white angel to them and their sickness. But the university was destroyed and bombed, but I did not. I am still trying to complete my education electronically in order to graduate, obtain my degree, and travel as soon as possible, then complete a master’s degree in surgery. I hope you will help me collect the travel costs and achieve my ambitions and goals. I thank you for giving me your valuable time to read my story. I hope you will help me, donate to me, and share my story and the link with your friends.

Donia's tuition for her final year of study is 5000 JOD (Jordanian Dinars), or approximately 7000 USD. Additionally, the cost to evacuate Gaza stood at 5000 USD prior to the closure of Rafah crossing. Furthermore, the cost of survival in Gaza is extremely high right now, and there is no certainty as to when the crossings may reopen, so Donia will be using the money collected to pay for necessities like food, winter clothes and blankets, and other basic items.

I'll be transferring all money collected to Donia via Western Union or international wire transfers. We truly appreciate your support in our efforts to help Donia. Please consider donating and sharing our campaign, and you are welcomed to contact me with any questions you may have!
