Help Donnie Dowhaniuk get back on his feet!

Hello ... I am Donnie Dowhaniuk's mum, Jacquie Montgomery. Donnie was involved in a motorcycle accident in Thailand on March 9, 2022. He suffered a severe brain injury and was repatriated to Canada on April 6, 2022. The family is very thankful for the insurance company's support in bringing him home (although there is a story there, and I am happy to share it with anyone interested).

The injury sustained has affected Donnie's eyesight and balance. He cannot work as a self-employed custom cabinet maker, as double division and a table saw are not a good mix.

Fortunately, he has received an MRI and several specialist referrals since returning home, but these all take time. So waiting is the current pattern. Government websites are challenging to navigate and involve waiting and delays.

We have never asked for financial assistance as a family, but Donnie needs support to help him get through these next few months. Expenses are accumulating without any income in the foreseeable future, and he needs to get heal rather than stress about finances. Although we have faith, it is unknown when and if his eyesight may return.

He finds walking a challenge; he cannot watch TV, play video games, or play cards with his buddies … really has lost all enjoyable pleasures. He spends most of his time in a dark room, as this feels best and limits headaches.
