Help Donny raise money for a prosthetic

Those of you who know Donny Munce know he is a kind man, a good friend, and a great father.

As many of you may have already heard, Donny Munce recently underwent an emergency amputation to his right leg, 3 inches below his knee. Donny was initially experiencing circulation problems and a lack of blood flow to his foot for a year caused by his type 1 diabetes. Donny underwent many procedures to help improve blood flow and circulation. However, to prevent further pain, discomfort, and bone infection progression, Donny underwent an unexpected emergency foot amputation. With positive thoughts, we hoped that his foot amputation would heal and resolve his health concerns. Unfortunately, this was not the case; Donny continued to experience complications and severe health concerns post-amputation. In order to eliminate all potential risks for infection and ongoing complications, Donny underwent another emergency procedure which resulted in an amputation to his right leg just below his knee.

As anyone who knows Donny would know, he has been physically active throughout his entire life. He has a passion for sports and athletics, whether that be exercising, coaching, training, competing, or cheering on teammates, friends and family. To continue to live a physically active life and continue his career as an owner of a professional kickboxing club, Donny will need a prosthetic leg and ongoing rehabilitation. However, due to the unexpected emergency amputations, COVID closure and his inability to work over the past year, Donny was not prepared for the financial costs and recovery time associated with the amputations, including the cost of the prosthetic leg, medication, and long term rehabilitation.

Donny is a highly motivated, dedicated, hardworking man who will persevere through all obstacles. Despite losing a limb and facing ongoing challenges mentally and physically, Donny has maintained a positive attitude, and sense of humour throughout this process. Donny is eager to start his recovery, return to his active life, career, and spend quality time with his family and friends.

In order to build a better future for Donny, we have created this fundraiser to help raise money for a prosthetic leg and help cover the long-term rehabilitation fees required to help Donny walk again. We hope that by creating this fundraiser; we can help Donny have a fast and safe recovery, gain independence, and obtain the financial supports he needs to ease his return to regular life.

All donations will go strictly towards a leg prosthetic, rehabilitation, and any repairs required for the prosthetic.
