Help Dorene Pay Bills During Her Cancer Fight

My name is Samantha and I have set up this Gofundme to help my Mom, while she continues to travel between Florida and New York for her Cancer surgeries and treatments while caring for our Grandparents.

It has been a whirlwind of struggles the past two years. Unfortunately her health and financial burdens have finally caught up with her.

My Mother is Dorene Governale Whitmore and has been battling 2 cancers. She doesn't ask for help, she is determined to fight her battle without asking for anything. Along with having Bladder Cancer, surgery and then 7 weeks-14 rounds of intense chemo.

A short 5 months later she was diagnosed with 2 types of Breast Cancer and then a second surgery.

There had been delays in her treatment due to coming down with Covid and then having a Sepsis infection, for which she had been hospitalized multiple times.

During Moms battles with Cancer, my grandparents, Nick and Dottie, became ill. They both have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. They were both hospitalized for 4 months due to Covid. Sadly they weren’t ready for any of it. They both took a turn for the worse and long term accommodations for their care had to be made.

My Mom is an only child and as such, the responsibility for their care falls on her. This resulted in her relocating to Florida, while flying back and forth to New York for her continuing Cancer treatments. She has been unable to work this whole time.

Most recently my grandfather, an Army Veteran, is now in Hospice. We are told he doesn’t have long.

This is a heavy load she is carrying. Our Mom is the most unwavering person I know. As a single Mother, she raised both myself and my sister Allie. She worked hard and put us both through college. She leads by example and we can only strive to be as selfless, compassionate, and as strong as she is❤️She gave us the world .

We are asking for help to alleviate her medical bills, traveling expenses, living costs and give Nick our Grandpa a proper burial, which he deserves.
