Help Doug and Juliana During This Unexpected Medical Crisis

UPDATE!!!!! From Juliana:

“Doug is in recovery! Surgery was from 7:30am-12:30pm and Dr said it went great! He is pretty sure they were able to get 99%-100% of the tumor! We won’t know stage until pathology results comes back next week. He does have some weakness on left side of face and left hand and leg, but doctor expects him to recover with OT/PT. We could potentially be home by Sunday night Doug will stay in the ICU tonight and hopefully regular inpatient floor tomorrow. Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, and positive energy ❤️❤️”

Doug and Juliana have recently received news that no one wants to hear. After some concerning symptoms, they discovered Doug has brain cancer. A CT scan showed a large mass on his right frontal lobe. Another CT scan and MRI further showed edema and a tumor of the Glioma form.

Their life has taken a sudden turn they didn't expect and are taking the news one day at a time. Doug is receiving great care as the doctors come up with the best course of action. He met with Dr. Ormond at the Anschutz Medical Campus Brain Tumor Clinic in Aurora, CO Thursday. Dr. Ormond is highly regarded in his field and we know Doug is in good hands. Doug will have surgery the week of March 24th. The tumor will be removed via conscious sedation. Due to the location of the tumor, Doug will need to be awake during the surgery so the doctors can closely monitor how the removal will impact Doug's mobility. Doug will also need further testing and imaging prior to the surgery to help doctors see how the tumor is affecting his functions.

Obviously brain surgery is a major surgery and will leave Doug and Juliana out of work leading up to the surgery, during the surgery, as well as the recovery process. This can cause a major strain on finances so we are starting this GoFundMe to help Doug and Juliana with medical expenses, travel expenses and any expenses that will occur during this time. We want them to focus on their family (Brendan, Maisie, Juniper) getting through the surgery and recovering instead of worrying about the bills and expenses during this tough time.
