Help Doug Fristoe Secure a New Home

The West Ash Neighborhood is the most caring place in the world. I posted an earlier Gofundme to help defray Neighbor Doug Fristoe's loan application cost, and you all went above and beyond. We both wept today. I was encouraged to reopen one to help with his increased rent before the landlord knocks down the house and closing costs. The gist is his landlord raised his rent (without fixing any of the things that need fixing) and is kicking him out in 3-4 months. Doug started a loan through VU and he's been preapproved for 100K (I was able to talk to his loan officer today about this, and will be working with Doug on securing a loan and finding a place to live), but he to open this line of credit. We're doing that tomorrow. He needs to buy a home. His son lives with him, and his dog Opie. He really wants to stay in our loving neighborhood, and he needs a walkable and friendly neighborhood. He survives on SS and his VA benefits. Neighbor Doug helps anyone who needs it. And apparently our entire neighborhood does as well.
