Update!
♥️From Cass-
Thankyou for everyone’s support and generous donations, we deeply appreciate it!
Just a update on Doug upon having more X-rays on his body due to still being in a lot of pain in his feet and lower back weve now found out he has fractured his left ankle and possibly his right too. He has a fractured tail bone and another fracture in his back apart from his L1 vertebrae that was compressed. All of this the hospital missed as they only did scans on some parts of his back. We are waiting so see specialist to see what our next move to help him recover is.
Hi, my name is Roz and I'm here asking for help to raise some funds for my soon to be nephew Doug, and his recovery from a fractured spine.
Doug is due to marry my niece Cass in just under 2months. His only wish for his bucks party was to have a weekend away with his mates camping.
The boys packed up and left on the 13th of July, and sadly he was only 1 day in when he's been involved in a pretty nasty motorbike accident, which resulted in him being airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital as a 'precautionary measure' - thankfully they did, as this accident resulted in a pretty nasty compression fracture in his L1 vertebrate. He's going to be in a back brace for a minimum of 3months, and that's only if his recovery goes well.
This break has completely shattered Cass and Doug. Doug is a very health focused guy, who loves going to the gym, and works in a physically demanding job on the tools as a cabinet maker/carpenter. He has been working every extra opportunity he could get to try to save for their wedding in September. Now, instead of focusing on their dream wedding, they're looking at how they're going to survive the regular day to day bills.
He's a long road ahead for recovery, and I'm creating this gofundme in the hopes that we can relieve at least some of their financial concerns and can focus on just getting better. Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated
