Help Dr. Cheryl recover from a brutal dog attack

Donation protected
On Feb 19th, a dog violently and viciously attacked Dr Cheryl while she was preparing to provide Chiropractic care. Even though it was muzzled, with a chain collar, and an E collar, the trainer failed to control the dog. Before she even got near it, the dog took her to the ground. Dr Cheryl was immediately taken to an ER where she required more than 60 sutures to her upper right torso and 15 staples and multiple sutures to her left forearm. The ER doctors treated her wounds and sent her home to recover. Within 4 days her wounds became seriously infected. On Feb 23rd Dr Cheryl returned to the ER where they gave her IV antibiotics and sent her home with oral antibiotics. Dr Cheryl returned to the ER as instructed on Friday Feb 25 for suture removal and it was discovered she had developed a life-threatening infection. After multiple applications of more antibiotics, she was taken into emergency surgery on Saturday Feb 26th for her infected wounds. As of Sunday, February 27th, Dr. Cheryl remained in the hospital with an unknown release date. Her physician estimates it will be at least 4-6 weeks before she fully recovers and can resume her life’s work of compassionately helping her human, canine, and equine patients.
This unfortunate incident has created many unforeseen expenses for Dr. Cheryl and her family. Dr. Cheryl is insured but has a high deductible and, like most of us, just does not have the means to pay for this sort of emergency. Compounding that is the time Dr. Cheryl will need to take off work while she recovers. As many of us know, Dr. Cheryl is always there to help both human and animal patients with her caring hands. Her typical day can begin at 6 AM and last until well after dark, six days a week. This kind, caring, generous, hardworking woman and her family could really use help through this challenging time.
Those of us who know Dr Cheryl, know that she would NEVER make a GoFundMe request on her own behalf but rather, the love felt by so many compelled its creation. Please spread the word and share this campaign!
All funds will go to pay the medical bills and any shortfall in living expenses during Dr. Cheryl’s extended time off work.
