Help Garrick the DJ get back on his feet

Hello everyone, we are reaching out to you all for support and prayers for Garrick, who many of you know as Garrick The DJ. On July 19, Garrick suffered a serious spinal cord injury as a result of an accident on his way to work. He was helped by some TTC employees, (and he sends them his heartfelt gratitude for their kindness) and rushed to Sunnybrook hospital for emergency surgery on his spinal cord. His injuries compromised the use of his hands, arms and legs and he is now rehabilitating at Lyndhurst Rehab Centre. Garrick will likely be here for several more months learning how to walk again, in addition to all the other lost capabilities which they hope that with his hard work, can be restored within about a year.

 

For those of you that know Garrick personally, and are fortunate enough to call him friend, co-worker, neighbor, or brother in the DJ community, you would know that Garrick has always been very independent, hard-working and humble, so allowing us to take up this initiative on his behalf was not an easy decision for him. We hope to not only raise funds, but raise his spirits with the love shown to him through this campaign!

 

The funds are also much needed, as his expenses are already taking a toll being unable to work, and he will have significant medical costs and more expenses coming as he looks towards leaving the facility and needing assistive devices and modifications for living at home.

 

We hope that support shown through GoFundMe will help him not only financially through the long road ahead, but also emotionally, as recovering from an injury of this nature will take great mental strength in addition to the obvious physical toll.
