Hello everyone,
My name is Dr. Nina Munir, and I'm reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea for help. I want to introduce you to a remarkable man, my father, Dr. Munir. He has dedicated his life to the field of oncology, and now, he urgently needs your support.
Dr. Munir's Journey:
Dr. Munir, a proud graduate of SMC in 1982, has devoted his career to the fight against cancer. He is widely recognized as one of the leading oncologists in our country, with an impressive list of high-profile patients. His commitment to excellence led him to become an American Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist, and he practiced medicine in the United States for nearly two decades.
Returning to Pakistan:
In the early 2000s, he made the heartfelt decision to return to Pakistan, bringing his expertise and dedication to the medical community here. Over the years, he has not only provided exceptional care to countless patients but has also contributed significantly to the advancement of medical science in our nation.
Facing Challenges:
However, in recent times, life has taken an unexpected and challenging turn for my father. His health has deteriorated, making it increasingly difficult for him to work as he once did. To make matters worse, he has almost no family support here in Pakistan, except for me, his devoted daughter, who has been tirelessly handling his medical needs and responsibilities.
A Battle Against Cancer:
Dr. Munir has been diagnosed with cancer, a battle he's fighting with unwavering determination. However, the cancer has not yet been localized, and further tests, including a PET scan, are urgently required. The cost of these tests alone runs into six figures (PKR). He has been admitted to Civil Hospital for the past couple of weeks, requiring intensive nursing care and frequent hospital visits in recent months.
Financial Struggles:
The mounting hospital bills, combined with the devaluation of his savings due to inflation, have left us in an incredibly challenging financial situation. Dr. Munir's savings have nearly dried up, and the need for life-saving medical care cannot wait any longer.
