Help Dr. Sartori Provide Care for Kenyan Children
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
My dad, Dr. Richard Sartori, has been a pediatrician for over 30 years. In just two weeks, he will be going on his 12th trip to Kenya to provide medical care to hundreds of children, many of whom are orphaned. For the first time, I am joining him on the trip this year.
While in Kenya, medical sites are set up where he treats children who suffer from malaria, pneumonia, parasites, fungal infections, or general injuries from motor vehicle accidents or working outdoors. Many of these children have HIV/AIDS.
While he is not sponsored through any particular organization, he travels with his close friends, Richard and Jodi Brodsky, who have a foundation that is dedicated to raising awareness for HIV/AIDS and cancer. After the children are seen, meals are provided outside–as well as plenty of dancing (thanks to funds raised by the foundation)!
Last year, his charity work was recognized by President Joe Biden when he received the President's Lifetime Achievement award, which is awarded to individuals who have "volunteered 6,000 hours to the public good" (pictures below).
My dad selflessly funds this trip each year through his own finances. He purchases all of the medical equipment and medications that will be used to treat the children. Any money raised through this page will go directly toward those medical expenses. Any excess will go towards clothing, shoes, toys, and books for the children.
Thank you. We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season!
Carrie
