Help Drea Get Home to Oregon
Donation protected
I relocated this summer (Aug 2018) to Vermont - to support a friend and take a much needed break from working in the social services & mental health fields.
At the end of September, I was excited to have interviewed and begun the hiring process for TWO amazing jobs, with a 3rd job in negotiation.
Unfortunately, [the very same week I was supposed to start working] I ended up in the emergency room and had to have emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. I was subsequently hospitalized (for 2.5 weeks) with pancreatitis and a swollen kidney.
I am at home [in Vermont] recuperating - for the next several weeks - still with pancreatitis, fluid build up, etc. Truly, this has been the most excruciating and painful experience of my life.
Since I'm not able to work while I continue to recuperate, I lost both of the jobs I'd been hired for, and had to withdraw from negotiating on the third position. As a result, having exhausted my savings throughout this whole medical ordeal, I am not able to support myself. To make matters worse, I do not have a solid support network here on the east coast.
Those of you who know me personally, know that I'm typically the first to roll up my sleeves and jump in to help others. I often put aside my own comfort and security, to help my loved-ones ... that's just the kind of person I am.
Right now, I have no choice but to recognize the limits of my physical body and acknowledge that I need help at this time.
I am humbly asking for your help to raise the necessary funds so that I can relocate back home to Oregon. If you can help in any way, in any amount, please know I truly appreciate your support.
