Help Dreadnought Get Back on the Road!

On May 14th 2022 our beloved tour van’s engine failed causing Dreadnought to incur a massive amount of debt. Our van that we affectionately call “Wynter”, needed a $6000 engine replacement after failing in Austin, TX. With little available funds due to the last two years of canceled shows and tours, each of us has personally taken on more credit card debt than we know how to bear. This has caused much distress and sleepless nights for all of the members as we try our best to prepare for a 6 week tour starting next month. Our tour starts on August 1st and with the many expenses piling up and insufficient credit left in the bank, we don’t know what else to do other than ask for help in this trying time. We know that times are rough for many people in the world right now. We are forever grateful for anyone who is able to support us. Thank you for reading our post and we wish you the best!

THE FULL STORY:

On May 7th 2022 Kelly's other band Bleakheart left for their west coast tour. Despite all the vehicle maintenance and repairs done to ensure the Bleakheart van was in good condition, the next day the transmission failed 90 miles outside of Salt Lake City. After many calls, due to it being a Saturday, nobody in town was open to look at the van and work on it until later in the week and van rental locations were not open. Bleakheart was devastated and scrambling to find a solution as to not cancel the tour.

Due to this emergency situation, and in true “the show must go on” fashion, Dreadnought agreed to rent the van to Bleakheart. Kelly's amazing partner, Shane, drove Dreadnought’s van from Denver to SLC that night and into the next day, allowing Bleakheart to leave SLC on the 8th and just barely make it to their show in Las Vegas that night.

Unfortunately, more bad luck awaited and on May 14th in Austin TX, the engine began clicking. Thankfully they were able to find a very kind tech who went out of his way on a Saturday night to inspect the van and attempt to repair it overnight so they could hopefully be on their way the next day. The timing ultimately did not work out, as the tech replaced the oil pump and water pump, only then to find that the issue stemmed from within the engine. We were shocked to find out that a total engine replacement was the only solution for the van to be road-ready.

With our first opportunity to tour after the pandemic around the corner, we are eager and excited to bring our music on the road, but we are unfortunately beginning it with large debt and expenses with little recourse. We are incredibly grateful for any help you can offer.

On behalf of all of us in Dreadnought, thank you so much.
