Drekarion "Bob" Williams Road to Recovery Fund
IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO DONATE DIRECTLY TO HIS MOM’S CASH APP: $PorsheConner / DADS : $scotty121988
On May 16, 2021, what was supposed to be a simple and routine day for two young cousins-Drekarion “Bob” Williams’ life was changed forever. We are asking for prayers, shares and any monetary donations to help Bob’s recovery and to assist his parents after he was shot unprovoked and without apparent motive, twice while riding his scooter. I have set up this account for my brother, Scott Williams, the father and for the mother, Porshe Conner. They are the beneficiaries of this account.
The Backstory
On May 16, 2021, 14-year-old Drekarion Williams (better known to family and friends as Bob), was riding his scooter with his cousin, who was riding a bike, in Racine, Wisconsin. They were headed back to his aunt’s house when someone drove by and started shooting at the two of them for no known reason. His cousin, also 14-years-old, was able to avoid getting shot but Bob was unfortunately shot twice. His cousin immediately tried to call 911 but his phone was covered in blood. Thankfully and almost immediately someone stopped to help and called 911 for them.
Bob’s Condition
Being shot twice in such a small child has resulted in devastating injuries to Bob. He was flown by Flight for Life from Racine to Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where they rushed him into surgery. In addition to the bleeding from the two gunshot wounds, Bob’s injuries include a fractured neck, fractured shoulder, internal bleeding, and damage to his stomach, intestines and colon. His surgery on Sunday, May 16 went well but they had to remove a portion of his intestines and part of his colon. On May 17, the doctors were able to remove his breathing tube, so he is now breathing on his own (praise God!). Sadly, Bob does not have feeling in his legs and the doctors informed his parents on May 18 that Bob will be paralyzed from the waist down. We are all praying for that to be wrong and hope that he will make a full recovery, but we need your help with prayers of healing for Bob. He has a long road to recovery which will include a ton of medical care.
The Costs
There is an immediate need for Bob’s dad and mom, Scott and Porshe, to be by Bob’s side 24 hours a day. Because of this, they have been unable to go to work since this happened and therefore, will soon run out of income and savings. Money donated will help with daily living costs for Bob and his parents while they are out of work. Additional money will be used for medical costs, including the mental health needs of Bob after such a traumatic experience and to equip their home for Bob’s return in order to make accessible modifications that will now be needed because of his condition and special needs.
