Help Drew & Christianna Adopt!

Ten years and a lot of heartache have gone by since my beautiful wife Christianna and I decided to start a family. We thought it would be so easy. We had been married two years when we moved across the country from NC to explore and carve out our own path in life. We were having a blast, but eventually reached a point where we decided it was time to start planning for a family. We didn’t know it then, but this would turn out to be a long, rough road. Not much time passed before we realized something was wrong. The doctors diagnosed Christi with severe endometriosis and told us that having children would be difficult. We hoped and prayed; we also tried an IUI and a cycle of IVF, to no avail. Our doctors said that success with these treatments often takes more than one attempt, so we tried IVF three more times, also attempting an embryo adoption. Surrogacy was financially not an option. After ten painful years and nearly $70,000, we have realized that although God is closing one door for us, He is opening another in the form of adoption.

Christianna and I have always dreamed of having a family together since we graduated from East Carolina University and married. It is what we have been working toward for all 15 years of our marriage. We have chosen to pursue an infant adoption domestically through a wonderful private agency called Choice Adoptions (formerly Christian Family Adoptions). We believe that with their help we can begin to build the family that God has always planned for us and that we have always wanted. We want to raise children from birth to adulthood, sending them off to their first day of kindergarten all the way to taking prom photos. We want to give each child a wonderful life emulating Christ’s love and illuminating a path of hope that he or she may not have had otherwise (John 1:12-13).

We are writing this letter to ask for your help. As you may know, private adoption can be lengthy and very expensive. The fees range from the cost of legal services to helping our birth mom with some of her expenses, such as prenatal care and other necessities. The total cost of a private adoption is upwards of $35,000-$40,000. We have been good savers (thanks to guidance from financial planner Dave Ramsey) and have made many sacrifices along the way to minimize debt and secure a stable financial future for us as well as our future children. However, this journey has taken its toll on us not only emotionally, but also financially. Christianna and I would be immensely grateful for any support you can contribute, whether in the form of prayer or through a financial donation to offset the cost of this wonderful opportunity. Every little bit helps.

We know God has always had a plan for us (Jeremiah 29:11). We believe His plan is for us to be adoptive parents. We are now at peace with our path moving forward, and we are excited to see what awaits us on the other side. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
