Help Drexel Beat Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone - my name is Kaitlyn Musto. I'm making this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousins, Taylor Monzietti and Carolyn Fiammetta, and of course their beloved pup, Drexel. Drexel is an incredibly sweet Border Collie who came into all of our lives twelve years ago. An impromptu visit to a Petco when Taylor was in high school turned out to be the day she met her best friend. Drexel was only a puppy back then, and he happened to be at this Petco for an adoption event. As soon as they laid eyes on each other, he bounded over to Taylor and plopped himself right at her feet. It didn't take much to convince her mother to take him home that day. It was clear they were meant to meet this amazing boy. He immediately became part of the family. Everyone who met him fell in love. I have so many fond memories of riding in the car with him on road trips, and spending lazy days on the couch with him when I'd visit my cousin's house as a kid. He's incredibly smart. When you look at him, it feels like he understands you. I've never met a dog that felt more human in nature. It goes without saying that he holds a special place in all of our hearts.
At Drexel's last vet appointment, we received some unfortunate news. It was just a routine check up, but the vet saw something concerning. After some tests, we were told that Drexel had developed cancer on one of his anal glands. The vet then told us that Drexel's prognosis if he underwent surgery to remove the cancerous growth was great, as it is still pretty localized to a small area. This is a glimmer of hope for us. And this is where we need your help. The surgery to save him is going to cost $11,000 dollars. As of right now, we have $7000. We will do anything we can for Drexel. He is so very loved. We know that times are hard in this day and age, and veterinary care can be steep. I'm sure any pet parent can relate. We need to raise $4000 to cover the rest of Drexel's care, and we humbly ask for the help of anyone that has anything they are willing to spare. If you can't afford to donate, please share this GoFundMe on your own social media so we can reach as many people as possible. We don't want to lose our beloved fur baby to something that can be treated. Thank you so much for your time, and for listening to Drexel's story.
Every penny donated will be going to the rest of the cost ($4000) of the surgery drexel needs.
