Help Duaa save her baby

Hi, my name is Rebekah and I am running this on the behalf of Duaa. I just want to clarify that ‘Kathryn’ is my sister. She is put down as a beneficiary as gofundme needs an 18 year old’s bank account. All funds are still being transferred to Duaa and her family. This is her story:

‘My name is Duaa Gheelan from Gaza, 27 years old.

I used to work as a language teacher and my husband Mahmoud.

We got married just two months before the war.

Like any family, we dreamed of building our own small, cute family. We worked 24 hours a day to build a beautiful house with the latest fashion decorations and furniture.

Suddenly, we lost everything. We lost our happiness, our warm home, and our place. When the war started, I was two months pregnant. I suffered from malnutrition and difficult displacement conditions. At that time, I could not find healthy food, medicine, or supplements. As for my birth, it was in dire circumstances. There were no health cadres, no sterilization, and no cleanliness. I and my child miraculously survived death. Now I am suffering with baby Adam to provide milk and diapers in light of the crazy high prices. I was displaced during the war 4 times and lived during them in a squalid tent with insects and rodents. Unfortunately, we have changed completely. We have no clean drinking water or healthy food. We are suffering from a real famine. We dream of seeing baby Adam in front of us growing up in a very healthy environment, not in a life of war.

Polio destroys the best of children, and I am afraid of losing my child, I only dream of leaving this country so that our child can enjoy the smile he deserves.’

I will transfer the money this fundraiser gets to Duaa which she can spend on necessities for her son and eventually evacuating Gaza.
