My name is Dylan, which the true Greek meaning of that name originates to "Son of The Sea." I always loved the ocean, being a citizen of Maine and all. My true passion is being a strong "Warrior of the sea." -Usopp. I really strive for adventure, proving my worth to others, and creating strong bonds with an abundance of people. I appreciate anyone who who took the time to read this, and appreciate anyone's donation toward the $12,000 tuition for my very first journey!! My name is Rebbecca and I've watched Dylan from the day he was born, to graduation, and it has been a tremendous joy to watch him find his way to his dream of becoming a Ship Captain! The Sailing Ships Maine program is a great first step toward that dream, as he will embark on a 2 month adventure learning the many aspects of working on a ship, and the many jobs available to him, to figure out which direction he wants to got to meet that goal, as the possibilities are abundant. Because this is not a traditional secondary education, there are not scholarships he can apply for to cover the cost of tuition and supplies, which is why we are reaching out through a GoFundMe. He received his packing list and intends to use his generous graduation gift money and money he has saved through work, toward these items. We understand that not everyone is able to help, or some of you may already have in celebrating his graduating, if you fall under either of these categories, please know we appreciate a share just as much as a monetary donation. If you happen to know of any non profit or private organizations who have extra money to donate to things like this, please point us (or this campaign) in their direction.
