Help Dylan's Fight Against Testicular Cancer

Hello everyone! My name is Cecilia Perry, and I am writing to you on behalf of my husband, Dylan Perry. As most of you have heard by now, Dylan has been unfortunately diagnosed with Stage 2 Testicular cancer. Our life has been truly turned upside down, and we hope that sharing our story will resonate with some of you and maybe encourage others to help us navigate this new and difficult challenge we are facing so early in life.
In November, Dylan and I's world came to an abrupt halt after receiving some concerning news regarding Dylan's health. After a trip to the Emergency room and an MRI-- a Urologist in the hospital confirmed that Dylan had two masses on his right testicle. By the end of the week, he was scheduled for Emergency Surgery to remove his right testicle and have it biopsied for cancer. These findings truly came as a shock to myself and our families because if you know Dylan, then you know he is very rarely sick and never displayed any symptoms.
After more extensive testing and several more scans with our Urology team, Dylan was officially diagnosed with Stage 2 Testicular Cancer, just a few days before our two-month wedding anniversary and weeks after turning 25. We were devastated and feeling defeated with this news, which made the discovery of a swollen lymph node in his lower chest area that much worse. In December, his Urology team made the call and scanned his lower chest area, which only confirmed our fears: the cancer had spread, and Chemo would be neccessary for treatment.
At that point, Dylan's medical team advised an aggressive Chemo schedule; he had a port placed in and was pulled out of work until further notice. As of January 10th, Dylan has started his first of three extensive Chemo cycles through Great Lakes Cancer Care. We have a long road ahead of us, and the symptoms can be brutal.
On top of Dylan's diagnosis and finding out Chemo would be our next step, we also had to start our infertility journey through CNY Fertility. Dylan, before Chemo, was advised to leave sperm samples to be frozen and allow us to start a family someday through IUI or IVF. Fortunately, we could complete the freezing process, but at a cost. Unfortunately, with infertility in cancer patients, there are many gray areas, and there are many procedures not covered or deemed medically necessary by insurance companies, including ours. Chemo also has the ability to leave Dylan infertile and unable to conceive children naturally in the future. This part of his diagnosis has been especially difficult and heartbreaking.
But for those who know Dylan and know his heart; he loves hard, his family always comes first, and besides building fire tricks, one of his dreams is to build a family someday.
Our life together over these past few months has changed drastically, including our finances, going from excited newlyweds, both in full-time jobs, ready to start a family, to constant doctor appointments, out of work to care for Dylan and Chemo every week. We've begun to swim in medical bills, our everyday month-to-month expenses, and infertility care. Unfortunately, that's the reality of an insurance company that fails to cover most of our costs and deems them medically unnecessary. Dylan and I ask, kindly, in addition to the generous amounts of prayer and support we've experienced, that these donations help alleviate some of our stresses. These monies donated will be used towards our medical bills, both chemo and fertility treatments and any other financial needs that may arise during Dylan's unexpected illness.
In light of his situation, Dylan has designed a t-shirt to help bring awareness to Testicular Cancer and support his ongoing fight against this disease. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, please click this link + grab your tee!:
