Help Eamon and Lindsey Start Over after the Palisades Fire

My name is Meghan O'Rourke, and I'm a writer and editor. I've launched this Go Fund Me after many of you reached out to ask how you can help:

My brother, Eamon O'Rourke, and his girlfriend, Lindsey Eskind, lost the majority of their belongings in the Pacific Palisades Fire in California, where they were renting a friend's house. They had forty-five minutes to evacuate; after protecting the house by watering it, closing windows, and removing propane tanks, they had time only to gather a to-go bag of clothes. The garage where Eamon and Lindsey were storing their lifelong possessions, as well as costly work equipment, burnt to the ground. (See the devastating image below.)

While the house survived as a structure, everything in it—clothes, household items—was badly damaged, much of it beyond repair.

Lindsay and Eamon are now facing the daunting challenge of moving and starting over from scratch with little more than a bed and their beloved dog, Uma. Eamon works in the film industry, and Lindsay is a wardobe stylist. They need to replace almost everything they have lost. Both are freelancers who lost essential work equipment—hard drives, computers, and more—as well as the many personal objects—clothing, kitchenware, dishware, furniture—that facilitate a life.
