Help Ease Andy's Journey Through Treatment
Dearest Friends and Family,
We are raising money for Andy to continue his cancer treatments in San Francisco. Andy Kallas is a wonderful father, Girl Scout Dad, special needs teacher, friend, uncle, brother and son. Any money we raise will go for treatment expenses in S.F. If there is money left over after his treatments it will go towards any outstanding medical bills.
Less than two years ago, my children's father, Andy, was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. Andy has gone through two different chemotherapy treatments and a clinical trial. Thus far, his cancer has been resistant to treatment. In a couple of weeks Andy will be starting new treatments. These treatments will have to be done in San Francisco; this is going to be a bit of a financial burden for Andy. He will be going to San Francisco every six weeks for a two-day treatment. Plus, any additional appointments for tests and Dr.'s appointments. We are raising money to help ease the burden of expenses related to these appointments; hotels, parking, gas etc.
Preliminary numbers show that it will cost Andy roughly $300 in expenses (outside of medical bills) every time he has treatment. Any gift will be helpful. If you want to know how your gift will be used the following is a rough breakdown of what your money will cover for one trip.
$200 gift = hotel room
$40 gift = gas
$30 gift = parking
$20 gift = a meal
$10 gift = tolls
We are appreciative of any help we can get. So far, Andy has had wonderful support from family, friends and co-workers during this long journey. We are especially grateful for the fellow teachers in the Modesto City School District who donated sick days. We will definitely need your support again for the next school year.
Thank you,
Kathy, Ashten and Jorja
