Help Ease Financial Burden for Artie's Family

As many of you know, Arthur (Artie) Layman has been hospitalized for about 7 months now after a preventative endoscopy went wrong and the surgeon punctured his stomach. Unfortunately, early this morning, he passed away, leaving behind a heartbroken family. He was the go-to person for everyone, always helping and taking care of his wife and kids. He had so many years left in him, and this was completely unexpected. Unfortunately, with him passing, he's leaving behind hefty medical bills and the cost of his funeral on top of everyday bills that are now left to his wife Laura to take care of alone. Anything will help and is greatly appreciated.

On a brighter note, Artie loved camping, his dogs (sometimes), his family, and helping people out whenever he could. His daughter has been driving his truck around to make sure it still ran and found that he had been listening to a Backstreet Boys CD. He may have been a big bearded man on the outside, but he had the goofiest soul, the best dance moves, and a heart of gold. We'll miss you forever, Party Artie <3

Services for Artie will be held Saturday 9/21 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Maloney Funeral Home, 130 Carleton Ave, Central Islip, NY 11722.
