Help Ease Gunner's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
A couple weeks ago, my 5 year old nephew Gunner (Travis’ sisters child) was having stomach trouble. They initially thought he was just constipated and were treating it as that. Last week they went back into the doctor because his stomach was noticeably harder/larger and the doctor ordered a CT scan. They found a mass the size of a baseball next to his stomach pushing on his bladder. They biopsied it the next day and found out on Friday that it was cancerous, Rhabdomyosarcoma. The tumor is growing rapidly and causing him to be in a lot of pain and lose bladder control. They are being admitted back into the hospital today and will start chemo tomorrow.
So many things to be praying for. Be praying that the PET scan shows no other cancer within his body, that the chemo works quickly and his pain decreases. Please pray for Whitney and Joe as they are dealing with things they never thought they would be dealing with as parents.
There is an option of him being transferred to St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee so pray that either the doors would be opened or that they are supposed to stay where they are at in Wisconsin.
Big prayers for Whitney who is a nurse at a prison and the sole provider for her family right now. So thankful that her work is willing to allow her to take the time off that she needs for his in patient chemo, as well as allow her the 6 weeks off for his out of state radiation treatment. However due to being new to this specific company, she doesn’t have any paid time off, so it would be without pay which will definitely be a struggle for them as a family.
Starting this GoFund to help cover whatever costs they may have. The hospital they’re currently at is an hour from their home. Family is all far away. Want to take the burden of financial stresses away as much as possible.
Love you all. Thank you for coming alongside our family.
