This is my nephew Jasper Reed Fricke. He is three months old. He was born with life-changing, potentially fatal birth defect called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. This means that, during development, his diaphragm did not form correctly leaving a large hole. Because of this, his organs from his stomach have migrated into his chest cavity pushing his heart to the right side of his body and squishing his lungs preventing them from growing properly.

-Although there can sometimes be a genetic link, it is usually just an isolated defect.

-This condition occurs in about 1 out of 3600 births and can range drastically in severity and outcomes.

-For every 10 babies born with it, 3 will pass away.

Jasper’s family has been forced to relocate to Florida from Ohio to a hospital that specializes in this defect. His family had been by his side every step of the way and I can only imagine the torture they go through day in and day out watching their baby boy go through all if this….waiting for his lungs to open…pleading with God to be able to take their little boy home.

The costs that this has incurred is insurmountable. I’m pleading with anyone of you that would be willing to give anything at all to my family who is suffering mentally, emotional, and financially. Please help me take away just a small portion of their stress by giving to them. Even the smallest donation would help in such a big way.
