Help Ed & Lydia record new audio musical, Hatched!

Who are you? 

We’re Lydia & Ed and we’re a new-musical writing team. This project was born because we wanted to find a unique way to keep theatrical magic alive in this challenging time and make it accessible to all!


What is Hatched!?

Hatched! Is a brand new audio musical - which is a fusion of audio drama, audio book and musical theatre!

It’s a fun, family musical about gender equality, told through birds on a mythical island. The female birds are fighting for the right to fly (it references the suffragettes & some more modern feminists).


Why do we need Hatched! right now?

Here in 2021, we are standing on the shoulders of every activist who came before us and we need to keep that forward motion going for the generations to come.

Hatched! explores gender equality in a fun, creative way to engage people of all ages and spark conversations. We want to empower young females and allies to come together and make the world a little bit better.


Where’s my money going? 

Your money is helping us make the show accessible to all. We want to fully fund the project so we can release it for free. This means that anyone with an internet connection can access the piece. (Nobody should be missing out on theatre because of financial/geographical/access issues).

We are committed to paying our actors and creatives for this project and we’re excited to be able to offer work to at least 14 people (many of whom have been out of work since last March!).

None of that makes this a cheap venture - so we're looking to raise £3850.


What’s the final product?

The final product will be a professionally recorded audio musical released for free on all streaming platforms, including spotify/apple music etc, so everyone can join in the fun!
