Help Ed Wirth Rebuild His Home

Hello Everyone,

Ed Wirth, my father, recently relocated his homestead from AZ to Texas this past Summer, to be closer to his grand and great-grandkids. As some of you know from his FaceBook updates, he prefers to “live off grid” compared to most of us and lives in a converted shipping container/cabin, since retiring a few years ago. During his new homesteading adventure, he’s labored to put up insulation, siding, roofing materials and installed a door, to make things homier and winter-ready (all in about 3 months’ time, completely solo and in his 70th year!!).

Sadly, on New Year’s Eve, his cabin caught fire: Damaged to the point of not being able to determine what caused it. Fortunately, he was not home at the time, as he went to spend the holiday with his grandkids, Gabrielle and Caleb, and their families. FOR THIS WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL. Yet, “Pop” is suddenly in the position of having to rebuild everything again. We know our Pop is tough and resilient, but any help he can get from family and friends will surely help uplift him during this time. Any funding – no matter how small – would greatly help to relieve some of the immediate financial stress this situation has created. Funds will be used for putting a deposit on a new cabin/dwelling and to replace personal belongings, tools, etc. Also, please feel free to send him words of encouragement, good vibes, and prayers – we all could use more of them, these days.
