Help Eden from Filthy, Rich & Homeless

Donation protected
Recently, hundreds of thousands of Australians tuned into the third season of the critically acclaimed series 'Filthy, Rich and Homeless' on SBS where they met my rough sleeping buddy Eden.

Eden, a homeless trans woman, faces daily discrimination, has suffered heartbreaking family breakdowns & was sleeping in a playground when I met her.

Since you've all now very briefly seen her on the show, I wanted to see if we can send some love her way in the form of contributing towards her rent to help her get back on her feet.

FACTS ABOUT EDEN:
- Her family have never met her as 'Eden'
- She is incredibly well educated
- A huge advocate for the trans community

Edens kindness and generosity deeply effected me. No one in the LGBTQIA+ community and no one in any community in general should have to face the kind of adversity that Eden does.

I found not only is this a housing problem, it's a humanity problem. While the last Census showed 116,000 people in Australia have no place to call home, LGBTQIA+ Australians are at least twice as likely to experience homelessness – as well as more likely to experience homelessness at a younger age. As was the case for Eden, the leading cause of homelessness for LGBTQI people is family breakdown.

During the show she shared her family had never met her as 'Eden' and when things started to deteriorate in her life she was left behind. Transgender people generally are significantly more likely to be victims of physical and verbal abuse. But with no home to escape to, Eden faces an even more intense daily barrage of discrimination.

I know COVID19 has had a huge impact on so many of us, however, I wanted to create this as a sign of support and love for Eden to help her get back on her feet after years of abuse and abandonment. This will change her life.  You are able to change her life!

A lot of people have been asking me how they can help with the homeless issue/issues in Australia, first of all I feel we all need to have a little more compassion and empathy for other humans in general and I think we need to be a more kind to each other.  This should be a daily goal of ours.  Beyond this, there are many places that you can donate financials as well, however, this is something that will go DIRECTLY towards Eden and helping her set her life back up.

With a goal of paying her rent for 6 months ($250 per week rent x 26 weeks), a total of $6,500,  This will go directly towards Edens rent and will help get her on her feet.

If you would like to be directly involved in helping with this, please donate here and share it with someone else who might have a spare few dollars to help Eden get back on her feet and into a house.

Thank you so much for contributing and helping being apart of the change we want in the world.
