Help Edgardo with his Recovery

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Vilmarie and I have organized this fundraiser for my father, Edgardo. For those of you who know me, know that I am all about my family. I’m also a daddy’s girl, so any issues related to my father hit really hard.

My dad lives in Puerto Rico. Not having your father right by your side is challenging, but my siblings and I have gotten the opportunity to travel and see him when we can. COVID like many of you personally know, has impacted this extremely. My father is now physically disabled due to an emergency surgery he had yesterday. It’s heartbreaking to FaceTime my father because he’s in the hospital recovering with no one by his side due to the COVID restrictions. My brother Edgardo Jr. has taken a leave of work to fly to Puerto Rico to care for my father full time. We won’t know how long this is going to last. Unfortunately, I am unable to physically be there with my father at the moment because I am going to school and I will be graduating this May. My goal is to work as hard as I can to help provide for my father to adjust to the changes in his new life. I’m calling it NEW because a disability is NOT a setback, but a mere start to a new opportunity in life.

It’s crazy how your life can suddenly change in an instant. Despite the severe emotional and physical pain, my father has shown tremendous strength. One of the most admiring things he said to me while we were on FaceTime was “I know that God is with me and I am not alone”. It’s easy to question God’s will in times like this, but I know that my father is strong and while I wish I was physically there with him, I can only help him monetarily at this moment. This is where you guys come in. My family and I need your help. With your donations and shares, we can all help my father adjust to these new changes, cover his medical expenses for prosthetics and recovery journey. Any help MATTERS SIGNIFICANTLY TO US. We are all a part of my father’s journey to recovery. And while you may or may not know my father personally, we want to show you who he is…

Although my father is now physically disabled and currently alone at the hospital in Puerto Rico, my family and I wanted to include pictures where my father is his happiest--especially in the kitchen! He’s a foodie and we always prided ourselves in having our own personal chef when we were growing up. People often came up to my siblings and I and share how they would get scared because of his height (he’s 6’5) and serious face. We always found that funny because he’s a real softie at heart! He loves making jokes, and my siblings and I LOVE to annoy him. On one of the most recent trips that my brother Edgardo and I took to Puerto Rico, my brother and I were annoying my dad and laughing hysterically in the car on our way home from sightseeing. We were about 2.5 hours from home and my father said “IF YOU GUYS DON’T STOP LAUGHING, I’M GETTING OUT THE CAR AND WALKING HOME NOW!!!!” …Sir, it’s raining and you’re 2.5 hours driving from home…chill please lol.

But long story short, we just want our dad to be comfortable and happy, and I’m sure you would want the same for your loved ones. We would appreciate any help towards my father’s recovery journey. Even if you are unable to donate monetarily, a share really goes a long way! My family and I thank you tremendously and pray that every single person who helps in any way gets blessed in DOUBLE. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

With much love and appreciation,

The Feliciano Family
